Peter Lovenkrands began his career in his native Denmark with Akademisk Boldklub in 1998 when he was also named Danish Under-19 Player of the Year.
In 2000 a £1.3m move to Rangers saw him have the most productive years of his career, playing 182 games and winning two SPL titles, as well as one SFA and three League Cups.
He scored 54 goals for the Gers, including the last minute winner against Celtic at Hampden Park in the 2002 Scottish Cup Final.
After six years at Ibrox, Peter moved to Schalke 04, netting six times in 44 games for the Bundesliga outfit.
He joined United on 23 January 2009 in a deal keeping him at St. James' Park for the rest of the 2008/09 season.
After netting three times from 11 outings he left the club when his short-term deal expired.
But Peter re-signed for the Magpies on September 1, 2009, penning a three-year deal and taking the No.11 squad number.
