Francisco Jimenez Tejada, aka Xisco, joined the Magpies on 1 September 2008.
The Mallorca-born striker is recognized as the most successful player to come out of Deportivo B since the Galicians returned to the Primera Division in 1991, his goals helping Depor into the 2008/09 UEFA Cup.
Xisco made his La Liga debut for Deportivo at the end of the 2004/05 season but was loaned out to UD Vecindario in 2006/07 where he scored 13 goals in 27 games for the Canary islands Segunda Division side .
In 2007/08 Xisco cemented his place at the Estadio Municipal de Riazor and ended the season with 12 career goals in 44 games for Depor.
A Spain Under 21 international, Xisco joins former team-mate Fabricio Coloccini at St. James' Park
Scored on his United debut on 13 September 2008 against Hull City.
His goal against Switzerland in October 2008 helped Spain Under 21s qualify for the Euro Championship Finals in Sweden in June 2008.
