A pupil at RGS School in Newcastle, Fraser joined the Academy in 2005.
The goalkeeper made his reserve team debut in the 1- 0 win at Blackburn on 27 February 2006.
The very tall but agile stopper added 14 second-string appearances during 2006/07, his form earning him a two year pro contract, signed in May 2007.
Was on the bench for United's UEFA Cup match in Frankfurt on 30 November 2006 and has since been in the 16 for a number of FA Premier League games without making his league debut.
Outstanding in the second-string throughout 2007/08, he signed a new deal in April 2008, keeping him at St. James' Park until 2010.
Joined Stockport for a one month loan spell in October 2008, making his senior competitive debut on 7 October in the Johnstone's Paint Trophy at Bury. Subsequently made 6 League One appearances for County.
