He only made three Premier League appearances for Liverpool, all as a substitute, the last ironically being at St. James' Park in February 2007 when the Magpies triumphed 2-1.
He also featured in the United/Bolton game at St. James' Park on 19 January 2008, Keegan's first game in charge.
Danny was at Manchester United as a youngster (11 - 15) but was persuaded by Steve Heighway to sign for the Anfield club when he left Thomas Telford School in Shropshire.
His displays in Liverpool's Academy side earned him a call-up to the England U15 schoolboys side and he has since represented his country up to U20 level.
A strong running competitive midfielder he proved to be a very useful acquisition to the United squad.
