Daryl Murphy and Achraf Lazaar will make their Newcastle United debuts in tonight's EFL Cup third round tie against Wolves.

Republic of Ireland international Murphy will start up front for Rafa Benitez's side in a much-changed team, while Lazaar will play at left-back.

United's six-match winning run was ended by Wolves on Saturday and the United boss has made eight alterations to his XI at St. James' Park.

Karl Darlow is in goal, behind a defence of DeAndre Yedlin, who himself starts for the first time, Ciaran Clark, Grant Hanley and Lazaar.

Jack Colback partners skipper-for-the-night Jonjo Shelvey in midfield, with Yoan Gouffran, Mo Diame and Matt Ritchie supporting frontman Murphy.

Freddie Woodman is the substitute keeper while usual captain Jamaal Lascelles joins Paul Dummett, Isaac Hayden, Christian Atsu, Ayoze Perez and Aleksandar Mitrovic on the bench.

Wolves boss Walter Zenga has also made eight changes, with Silvio making his Wolves debut.
