Rafa - 'We All Have To Be Ready'

Written by Newcastle Utd

Rafa Benitez says Newcastle's players, staff and fans are all in it together ahead of Tuesday night's EFL Cup tie

Rafa Benítez has urged Newcastle United players, staff and fans to stand together as the Magpies look to bounce back from Saturday's 2-0 defeat to Wolverhampton Wanderers.

United welcome Wolves back to St. James' Park for the second time in four days on Tuesday, with both sides looking to progress in the EFL Cup after the visitors took the spoils in the weekend's Sky Bet Championship clash.

"We need to be ready - that means players, staff and fans," Benítez said. "We need to be together - United - and that means we can bring the best from every single player.

"We have watched (Saturday's) game, talked with the staff and the players; analysing what was wrong and especially trying to correct things on the pitch.

"After the QPR game, I said that there was plenty of room for improvement. You can see that we are a team that needs to improve and manage the games a little bit better.

"For us, for the staff, players and fans, we have to realise that every game is tough. We all need to understand what is going on and if we work hard - if we are united, as our name says - we can improve.

"Now is the time to realise it is not just a parade. We have to work hard in every single game. If the players give everything, we have to support them. Then at the end, maybe we can celebrate together."

Benítez is expected to make changes to his starting line-up for Tuesday night's game in order to give players vital game time and an opportunity to impress.

"Sometimes you have to give players a run to gain the best from momentum, but sometimes you have to change," he said.

"In this case, we will make some changes. I want to keep everyone on their toes and thinking they can help and make a difference."

Tickets for Tuesday's EFL Cup clash with Wolves are available from just £10 for adults and only £3 for concessions until Monday.

On Tuesday, ticket prices will increase slightly to £15 for adults and £5 for concessions.
