Freddie Woodman has been called into the England under-21 squad for their Euro 2017 qualifier against Norway.
The 19-year-old Little Benton Academy product, who signed a new four-year contract at St. James' Park last month, met up with Gareth Southgate's group at St. George's Park on Sunday evening.
He won his first under-20 cap against Brazil earlier on Sunday, with Adam Armstrong also making his international debut at that age group in a 2-1 defeat at Kidderminster Harriers' Aggborough ground.
Sunderland goalkeeper Jordan Pickford pulled out of the under-21 squad last week and Woodman will now challenge Manchester City's Angus Gunn and Joe Wildsmith of Sheffield Wednesday for the number one jersey ahead of Tuesday's 5.45pm kick-off at the Colchester Community Stadium.
Woodman's United team-mate Isaac Hayden was named in Southgate's initial 24-man squad for the match.
Tickets for the game are still on sale, priced at £10 for adults or £5 concessions, by calling 0845 837 9089.
