Newcastle United full back Jamie Sterry has joined League One side Coventry City on loan.

Sterry will stay at the Ricoh Arena until Tuesday, 3rd January 2017.

The 20-year-old made his first start for the Magpies in last week's 2-0 EFL Cup victory over Cheltenham Town at St. James' Park.

Sterry also put pen to paper on a new four-year contract with United last week, as did fellow Academy product Adam Armstrong - who scored 20 goals while on loan at Coventry last season.

And Sterry - who will team up with ex-Magpie Gael Bigirimana in the Sky Blues' ranks - could now make his debut for Tony Mowbray's men in their League One clash at Fleetwood Town on Saturday.
