- DeAndre Roselle Yedlin was born on 9th July, 1993 in Seattle, Washington.
- The full back stands at 1.73 metres, or five feet eight inches, tall.
- Having represented local clubs Emerald City, Northwest Nationals and Crossfire Premier as a youngster, Yedlin's big break came with Seattle Sounders, who he joined in 2010.
- A year later, however, the 23-year-old turned out for the University of Akron's team, the Akron Zips, in the Mid-American Conference.
- During this time, Yedlin was still featuring for Seattle Sounders' under-23 side, and was named in the All-Premier Development League First XI - the equivalent of team of the season - thanks to his form for the Sounders' second string.
- He made his full debut for the club in March 2013, earning a place in the MLS Team of the Week for his performance against Montreal Impact.
- Yedlin has also featured for the MLS All-Star team, playing for the select outfit against Roma that year.
- In June 2013, he won his first cap for the United States' under-20 team in a 3-1 win over Portugal.
- His first call-up to the senior USA squad came in January 2014, and he earned his first cap a month later against South Korea.
- Having been named in Jurgen Klinsmann's squad for the 2014 World Cup in Brazil, Yedlin made three appearances during the tournament as the United States were eliminated by Belgium at the round of 16 stage.
- That summer, after 44 league appearances for Seattle Sounders, Yedlin joined Tottenham Hotspur, penning a four-year deal at White Hart Lane before immediately returning to Seattle on loan.
- His Premier League debut came against Aston Villa in April 2015.
- And Yedlin is already familiar with the North East - he spent last season on loan at Sunderland, having joined them in September 2015.
- He made 25 appearances for the Black Cats in all competitions last season.
- To date, Yedlin has 39 caps for the United States senior team.
