Dragon Dummett Receives Welsh Call

Newcastle United full back Paul Dummett has been named in the Wales squad for their 2018 World Cup qualifier against Moldova next month.

The 24-year-old has been named as one of eight defenders in their 23-man squad for the fixture at the Cardiff City Stadium on Monday, 5th September.

It will be Chris Coleman's side's first competitive fixture since they reached the semi-finals of the European Championships in France earlier this summer.

And Magpie Dummett will be hoping to collect his third cap for his country, having missed out on Wales' run to the last four at the Euros despite having been named in a preliminary squad prior to the tournament.

Both of his previous two caps came against the Netherlands, in 2014 and 2015.

Wales are in qualifying group D as they bid to make it to the World Cup in Russia in just under two year's time, along with Moldova, the Republic of Ireland, Austria, Serbia and Georgia.
