Eight young Newcastle United players have signed new contracts with the Club.

The youngsters, who are all part of Peter Beardsley's under-21 squad, have each put pen to paper on deals that will keep them at St. James' Park.

Goalkeeper Brendan Pearson and defenders Kyle Cameron, Liam Gibson and Callum Williams - all 19 - have each signed their first professional contracts.

Twenty-year-olds Macaulay Gillesphey, Liam Smith and Tom Heardman have also signed new deals, while 18-year-old Stefan Broccoli is among the list of players who have extended their stays at the Club.

Meanwhile, Academy players Luke Charman, Jamie Holmes, Jack Hunter, Sean Longstaff, Michael Newberry, Ben Smith, Dan Ward and Paul Woolston have all been given extended scholarships.

Football development manager Beardsley said he was delighted his young talents had all inked new deals.

"The decision for them, ultimately, was whether they want to stay here and be part of a big, big club," he said. "The great thing is that they all want to be here, so that is a big plus.

"This is a special club, there's no doubt about it, and they've bought into what Ben (Dawson, professional development phase coach) and I do. We're excited about the season - we're looking forward to it."
