Srnicek T-Shirts Auctioned For Charity

Written by Newcastle Utd

Last season's special warm-up tops in memory of Pavel Srnicek are being auctioned for charity

Newcastle United have donated their special Pavel Srnicek warm-up tops to Newcastle United Foundation, who will auction them off for charity.

The T-shirts, which feature an image of the goalkeeper who died suddenly last December, were worn in fixtures against Arsenal and Manchester United as part of a number of tributes to the popular Czech.

They will be auctioned online with proceeds split between Newcastle United Foundation and St. Oswald's Hospice, a charity nominated by Pavel's family. The auction will run from 5pm on Tuesday (5th July) until 5pm on Tuesday, 12th July.

"Pav was a hugely popular figure, committed to supporting the local community and the auction of these shirts will benefit two very worthy organisations," said Kate Bradley, head of Newcastle United Foundation.

"The Foundation works with almost 50,000 disadvantaged young people and families every year, so every penny raised goes towards making a real difference to their lives on the local community."

Siobhan Sargeant, corporate fundraiser at St. Oswald's Hospice, added: "We are so grateful to Newcastle United for the donation of football shirts to raise funds for St. Oswald's.

"Pavel Srnícek was a valued supporter of the hospice. We are honoured to be the charity chosen to benefit from the sale of these shirts, in his memory.

"We have to raise over £7million each year, so support from our local community is vital to allow us to continue providing care to local adults, young people and children with incurable conditions."
