Pick Up A Retro Programme Against Spurs

Written by Newcastle Utd

The 22nd - and final - issue of United's award-winning programme will be available to purchase on Sunday

By Anthony Marshall - Newcastle United Managing Editor

The Newcastle United matchday programme has gone retro for the 2015/16 campaign, and the 22nd - and final - issue will be on sale for Sunday's Barclays Premier League fixture against Tottenham Hotspur (3pm kick-off).

Each week, a previous issue from the 1940s, 50s, 60s, 70s, 80s or 90s has been given a modern twist, with this weekend's award-winning publication taking its inspiration from February 1956 and a Division One clash between United and Spurs.

The original cover features an image of St. James' Park, taken from the Gallowgate End, on a black and white striped background. And so on Sunday the cover is identical apart from the image, which is an updated photo of the Magpies' stadium.

Inside, we speak to ex-Tottenham winger Andros Townsend about relegation, the impact of Rafa Benitez and facing his former teammates.

Striker Aleksandar Mitrovic spills the beans from inside the dressing room in Teammates, while we also hear from Paul Dummett captain Fabricio Coloccini and manager Rafa Benitez

That is a just a snippet of what is inside this week's issue, with an extensive look at Sunday's opponents Tottenham Hotspur and four pages of quizzes and puzzles for our younger fans also included.

The official matchday programme will be available to purchase around St. James' Park and in the club store at the stadium on Sunday, priced at just £3 for 100 pages.
