Coventry City's leading goalscorer Adam Armstrong played his final game at the Ricoh Arena as the Sky Blues beat Sheffield United 3-1 at the weekend.
Armstrong, who has 19 goals to his name this season and was named in the PFA League One Team of the Year, played the full 90 minutes as goals from Marc-Antoine Fortune, Andy Rose and Ruben Lameiras gave Tony Mowbray's side the win.
But midfielder Gael Bigirimana, also on loan at the Ricoh, didn't feature in the City squad.
Striker Ivan Toney came off the bench deep into added time at the end of the second half as an Ashley Fletcher double helped Barnsley to a 2-2 draw at home to Colchester United.
Toney had been on the pitch for just a few minutes, however, when Tom Lapslie headed in Colchester's leveller in the 98th minute at Oakwell.
Haris Vuckic was an unused substitute as Wigan Athletic secured promotion back to the Championship at the first attempt with an emphatic 4-0 victory over Blackpool at Bloomfield Road.
Magpies midfielder Liam Smith started the game for Neil McDonald's strugglers, but was replaced by Uche Ikpeazu with just over quarter of an hour left as the Tangerines' survival hopes were dented.
Winger Sammy Ameobi replaced the injured Anthony Pilkington after 20 minutes, but his Cardiff City side suffered 3-0 defeat at Sheffield Wednesday in the Championship.
And in League Two, Kyle Cameron couldn't prevent relegated York City from suffering a 4-1 defeat at home against promotion-chasing Bristol Rovers on Saturday.
Fellow centre half Lubo Satka, though, wasn't included in Jackie McNamara's squad as the Minstermen were beaten in their final home game of the season.
Carlisle United were also beaten at home by a team battling it out at the division's summit, as Keith Curle's side lost 2-0 to Oxford United at Brunton Park.
Forward Alex Gilliead came on as a half time substitute for Patrick Brough at Brunton Park, but was unable to inspire a turnaround, while Macaulay Gillesphey missed out on a place on the bench.
In France, Marseille continued their recent revival with a 1-0 win over Angers, with both Florian Thauvin and Remy Cabella playing their part.
Thauvin started, but was replaced by Bouna Sarr with just over ten minutes remaining, while Cabella entered the fray as a 72nd-minute substitute for Abdel Barrada at the Stade Jean-Bouin.
