Fit-again defender Chancel Mbemba is one of a further five senior Newcastle United players to fly out for international duty this week.

Mbemba, who made his return from injury in the 1-1 Tyne-Wear derby draw with Sunderland on Sunday, is part of the DR Congo squad for their African Cup of Nations qualifying double header.

The 22-cap centre half is likely to feature for Florent Ibenge's side when they host Angola at the Stade des Martyrs de la Pentecote on Saturday, 26th March.

Twenty-one-year-old Mbemba could also play in the reverse fixture between the two sides at the Esadio 11 de Novembro three days later on Tuesday, 29th March.

Meanwhile, another two United players are also in African Cup of Nations qualifying action.

Midfielder Henri Saivet has been called up to the Senegal squad for their two fixtures against Niger, the first of which takes place at the Stade Léopold Sédar Senghor in Dakar on Saturday, 26th March.

The former Bordeaux man and the rest of the Senegal squad then travel to the Stade Général Seyni Kountché for the return fixture on Tuesday, 29th March.

And on-loan forward Seydou Doumbia will be aiming to help last year's winners of the tournament, Ivory Coast, made sure of their place at the 2017 finals.

The 28-year-old could line up for Les Elephants when they take on Sudan at the Stade Félix Houphouët-Boigny in Abidjan on Friday, 25th March before the reverse fixture takes place at the Al-Merreikh Stadium in Omdurman on Tuesday, 29th March.

The scorer of the equaliser in last weekend's derby, Aleksandar Mitrovic, could add to his tally of 18 Serbia caps when they face Poland in a friendly at the INEA Stadion in Poznań on Wednesday, 23rd March.

Mitrovic's side then travel to Estonia's A. Le Coq Arena in Tallinn for another friendly on Tuesday, 29th March.

And young defender Lubo Satka is also in international action for Slovakia under-21s as they take on Estonia in a friendly on Wednesday, 23rd March before facing Turkey at home in a European Under-21 Championship qualifier on Tuesday, 29th March.
