Paul Tierney will take charge of a Newcastle United game for the first time as he referees Saturday's Barclays Premier League home fixture against Bournemouth (3pm kick-off).
The Lancashire-based official has never been appointed to a Magpies match, and this weekend's clash will only be the fifth top flight game he has overseen in his career to date.
In total during the 2015/16 campaign, Tierney has taken charge of 30 games across the Premier League, Championship, FA Cup, Capital One Cup and Football League Trophy, issuing 85 yellow cards and two reds.
Tierney became a member of the National Group Referees ahead of the 2009/10 campaign and quickly worked his way up through the divisions. His first Premier League appointment came in August 2014 as Swansea City beat West Bromwich Albion.
He has appeared twice at Wembley - first as assistant referee of Chelsea's FA Cup semi-final victory over Arsenal in 2009, before being fourth official for the 2014 FA Vase final between Sholing and West Auckland Town.
On Saturday at St. James' Park, Tierney will be assisted Richard West and Dave Bryan, with Martin Atkinson the game's fourth official.
