Neil Swarbrick will take charge of Newcastle United's Barclays Premier League trip to Stoke City on Wednesday (7.45pm kick-off).
It is the second time the Lancashire-based official has refereed a Magpies' match this season, having also been the man in the middle of January's 2-1 home victory over West Ham United.
On that afternoon on Tyneside, Swarbrick booked one player - United goalkeeper Rob Elliot.
In total during the 2015/16 campaign Swarbrick has overseen 24 games across the Premier League, Championship, League One, League Two, FA Cup and Capital One Cup, issuing 72 yellow cards and four reds.
The 50-year-old whistler only took up refereeing at the age of 29, but within six years was promoted to the national list of assistant referees, and four years later was added to the referees list.
Swarbrick's first Premier League appointment came in December 2010, when he was the man in the middle of a goalless draw between Fulham and Sunderland.
On Wednesday at the Britannia Stadium he will be assisted by Lee Betts and Eddie Smart, with Graham Scott the game's fourth official.
