Doumbia To Debut

Written by Newcastle Utd

Newcastle United fans can get their first glimpse of Seydou Doumbia in a black and white shirt when the Magpies' under-21s entertain Stoke City at St. James' Park on Monday (kick-off 7pm).

The Ivory Coast international arrived on loan until the end of the season from AS Roma on the final day of the January transfer window and has been on the bench for United's last two Barclays Premier League games.

But he will start for Peter Beardsley's second-string against the Potters. Admission is free to season ticket holders and Members, otherwise it's £3 for adults and £1 concessions. The East Stand will be open for the match.

Doumbia won't be the only big name on show, with Jamaal Lascelles - who served a one-match suspension as Newcastle beat West Bromwich Albion on Saturday - and goalkeeper Karl Darlow also in line to feature.

And teenagers Liam Gibson, Callum Williams and Daniel Barlaser, who were all named on the bench on Saturday, are likely to get the chance to impress too.

Full-back Jamie Sterry is also back in contention after recovering from a hip flexor strain while Callum Roberts will be looking to add to the two goals he scored in United's last second-string match - a 4-2 win at West Brom at the end of last month.
