Perez Looking To Sting The Hornets

Written by Newcastle Utd

Despite Watford's recent slump in form, Spanish striker Ayoze Perez is expecting a tough game at Vicarage Road on Saturday

Newcastle are full of confidence after picking up four points from their last two matches, while Watford have just one point to show for their last five games.

But Ayoze Perez is under no illusions ahead of the Magpies' second trip to Vicarage Road this month.

Two weeks ago, United were knocked out of the Emirates FA Cup at the third round stage with Troy Deeney's strike proving to be the only goal of a disappointing afternoon for Steve McClaren's side.

In the league, though, Watford have started to stutter; Monday night's 1-0 defeat to Swansea was their fourth straight top-flight loss.

However Perez - who scored Newcastle's opener against West Ham last weekend - told nufc.co.uk: "Against Watford, it's going to be hard game, a tough game at their stadium.

"We went there a couple of weeks ago and we know them.

"Now we must work to improve on that result, and try to get the points."

United take on the Hornets on Saturday with a 3pm kick-off.

On Tuesday, Watford signed goalkeeper Costel Pantilimon from Sunderland.

And on Monday, Quique Sanchez Flores brought in Morocco international forward Nordin Amrabat.
