Riviere Set For Second-String Comeback

Written by Newcastle Utd

Emmanuel Riviere is set to make his comeback from injury when Newcastle travel to Everton in the Under-21 Premier League Cup on Thursday

At the third time of asking, Newcastle's second-string will take on Everton in the Under-21 Premier League Cup on Thursday (kick-off 7pm).

And Emmanuel Riviere and Rolando Aarons are set to make their respective comebacks at Southport's Merseyrail Community Stadium.

Riviere has been sidelined since last summer with a knee injury while Aarons has been out of action with an ankle complaint.

Aarons was due to make his return against the Toffees' second-string earlier this month, only for the tie to be postponed just minutes before the team arrived at the ground.

And the fixture had earlier fallen victim to the weather just before Christmas.

Sylvain Marveaux is also expected to play for Peter Beardsley's side, who drew 0-0 at Aston Villa on Monday night.
