Mike Jones will referee Newcastle United's Barclays Premier League fixture at West Bromwich Albion

By Anthony Marshall - Newcastle United Managing Editor

Mike Jones will referee Newcastle United's Barclays Premier League fixture at West Bromwich Albion on Monday (3pm kick-off).

It is the third time the Cheshire-based official has taken charge of a Magpies' match this season, having overseen a 2-0 defeat at Swansea City in August and a 3-0 home loss at the hands of Leicester City in November.

On that afternoon at St. James' Park, Jones booked five players, including Paul Dummett, Moussa Sissoko, Vurnon Anita and Ayoze Perez.

In total during the 2015/16 campaign, he has officiated 17 games across the Premier League, Championship and Capital One Cup, issuing 64 yellow cards and one red.

The 47-year-old was promoted to the Football League list of referees in 1997 and went on to take charge of the League Two play-off final and FA Trophy in 2007, before moving into the Select Group which officiates in the top flight.

In May 2012, he was the fourth official for referee Phil Dowd at the FA Cup Final between Chelsea and Liverpool.

On Monday at the Hawthorns, Jones will be assisted by Dave Bryan and Jake Collin, with Andy Woolmer the game's fourth official.
