Newcastle United have been drawn away at Premier League rivals Watford in the third round of the FA Cup

By Anthony Marshall - Newcastle United Managing Editor

Newcastle United have been drawn away at Watford in the third round of the FA Cup.

The draw was made on Monday night, and has given the Magpies a trip to Vicarage Road to face the Barclays Premier League newcomers, who are currently flying high, just three points off the top five.

The sides have already met once this season in top flight action, back in September on Tyneside, where the Hornets ran out 2-1 winners thanks to Odion Ighalo's first-half brace.

The tie will be played at Vicarage Road on the weekend commencing Friday, 8th January - a fortnight before they are due to clash in Premier League action in Hertfordshire - and a date for the fixture and ticket details will be announced on nufc.co.uk in due course.
