Stuart Attwell will referee Newcastle United's Barclays Premier League trip to Crystal Palace on Saturday (3pm kick-off).
It is the first time the Warwickshire-based official has taken charge of a Magpies match this season - and only the sixth United fixture of his career, all of which have come away from home.
In total during the 2015/16 campaign, Attwell has officiated 19 games across the Premier League, Championship, League One, League Two, FA Cup and Capital One Cup, issuing 62 yellow cards and three reds.
The 33-year-old became the youngest person to ever referee in the Premier League when he took charge of Blackburn's 1-1 draw against Hull in August 2008, and was promptly added to the international list of referees for 2009.
In July 2010, along with colleague Anthony Taylor, Attwell officiated in Japan's J-League for three weeks as part of a referee exchange programme, and early in 2012 he was removed from the Select Group Referees list, returning to Football League duty.
On Saturday at Selhurst Park, Attwell will be assisted by Peter Kirkup and Andy Garratt, with Mike Jones the game's fourth official.
