Internationals - Magpies Take Flight

It's International week and there are a host of United players away this week representing their National Teams
With Newcastle United not in action until the visit of Leicester City to St. James' Park on Saturday 21st November, up to 14 players could all feature for their respective nations at senior and youth level during the international break.
LAST NIGHT
Two Newcastle United academy graduates were first up last night; both representing home nations at youth level, however only one was called into action.
Alex Gilliead came on in the 67th minute for Keith Downing's England U20 side but they lost 4-3 to their French counterparts in a friendly encounter in Brittany.
Over in Russia, Michael Newberry's Northern Ireland Under 19 side had their opening UEFA U19 Championship fixture against Norway called off due to a waterlogged pitch.
TODAY
The rain that caused the postponement of Northern Ireland's match against Norway on Wednesday relented and it was good news for Michael Newberry as he scored Ireland's second goal in their 2-1 victory in the first match of the UEFA European Under-19 Championship Qualifying Round.
Chancel Mbemba's DR Congo will meet Gael Bigirimana's Burundi in Bujumbura for the first of a FIFA World Cup qualifying double-header.
Back in Europe, goalkeeper Freddie Woodman and striker Adam Armstrong - on loan at Coventry City - could feature for England U20 away to the Netherlands U20 at Juliana-Sportpark in s'-Gravenzande.
FRIDAY
Friday sees five senior and youth international fixtures which could all feature Newcastle United players.
Striker Aleksandar Mitrović is in the Serbia squad for a friendly fixture against the Czech Republic in Ostrava at 7:30pm.
At 7:45pm, Paul Dummett could face off against Magpies teammates Daryl Janmaat and Gini Wijnaldum when Wales host the Netherlands at the Cardiff City Stadium.
Shane Ferguson - currently on loan at Millwall - is also in the Northern Ireland squad for a friendly against Latvia in Belfast at 7:45pm.
In Paris, Moussa Sissoko is in contention for a place in the France team to face world champions Germany at the Stade de France at 8pm.
Finally, over in the Republic of Ireland, Kyle Cameron will be with Scotland U19 to face Latvia U19 in Athlone.
SATURDAY
On Saturday, Alex Gilliead will make the short journey from St Brieuc in Brittany to neighbouring Ploufragan as England U20 face France U20 for the second time in four days.
Michael Newberry could represent Northern Ireland Under-19s again in their second UEFA Under-19 Championship fixture against Russia in Sochi. This game was originally scheduled for Friday but with their game against Norway being put back 24-hours, UEFA re-jigged the playing schedule.
SUNDAY
The second FIFA World Cup qualifier between DR Congo and Burundi will take place in Kinshasa on Sunday (2:30pm GMT).
Two other Newcastle teammates will be reunited on the same side at Manchester City's Academy Stadium on Sunday afternoon when Freddie Woodman and Adam Armstrong form part of the England U19 squad which hosts Japan at 3pm.
In the same age group, Kyle Cameron will be in Limerick, where Scotland U19 face Slovenia U19 in a UEFA European Under-19 Qualifying Round fixture
MONDAY
The week kicks off in Russia, as Michael Newberry and Northern Ireland U19 take on Slovakia in their third UEFA U19 Championship game in Sochi.
TUESDAY
The national focus switches to Wembley on Tuesday as England return to friendly action against France. Moussa Sissoko could again feature for Les Bleus.
In another standout friendly fixture, teammates Daryl Janmaat and Gini Wijnaldum will be in Hannover as the Netherlands take on Germany at the HDI-Arena.
WEDNESDAY
With most players on their way back to Tyneside to prepare for the visit of Leicester City, Kyle Cameron could feature when Scotland U19 take on Republic of Ireland U19 in Limerick in the UEFA European Under-19 Championship Qualifying Round
And in the final games of the International break, youngster Mackenzie Heaney has been selected by Steve Cooper for the England U17 squad which hosts Germany U17 in a behind-closed-doors fixture at St George's Park, followed by a second game against the Germans on Friday at Rotherham in front of the BT Sport cameras, kick-off 7.30pm
