All Blacks head coach Steve Hansen is relishing his side running out at the "special home" of Newcastle United

All Blacks head coach Steve Hansen is relishing his side running out at St. James' Park - the "special home" of Newcastle United.

The Magpies' stadium plays host to its second game of the 2015 Rugby World Cup, as New Zealand take on Tonga on Friday night in Pool C (8pm kick-off).

And while rugby is rare at St. James' Park, that doesn't mean that its legacy has reached the other side of the globe, with Hansen full of knowledge about where his troops will be running out.

"Playing at St James' Park, the home of Newcastle United, will be a special occasion as there is a lot of history surrounding the park and the club," said the head coach.

"They've had some great players and coaches over the years - Alan Shearer, Peter Beardsley and Kevin Keegan, to name a few - and we look forward to bringing our game to their special home."
