Sylvain Marveaux will make his comeback from injury when Newcastle's under-21s entertain Swansea City at Whitley Park on Monday (kick-off 1pm).

The French midfielder has been sidelined since pre-season but returned to training earlier this month and is now ready to push for a first-team berth. He's named as an over-age player in Peter Beardsley's squad.

Marveaux spent last season on loan at Guingamp in Ligue 1.

Rob Elliot will also be involved and, after Kevin Mbabu and Ivan Toney made their Barclays Premier League debuts against Chelsea at the weekend, more of Beardsley's boys will be hoping to catch the eye of head coach Steve McClaren.

Frontman Toney - who scored in last week's Barclays Under-21 Premier League draw at West Ham - is set to lead the line against the second-string Swans.

Gael Bigirimana is another player with senior experience who could figure at the Northumberland FA's Benton base.

The game had been scheduled to start at 7pm but was switched to 1pm at the visitors' request.

Admission is free to season ticket holders and Members, otherwise it's £3 for adults and £1 for concessions (under-16s and over-65s).
