Head coach Steve McClaren has made five changes to his Newcastle United starting line-up for Wednesday's Capital One Cup third round home tie against Sheffield Wednesday (7.45pm kick-off).
Vurnon Anita, Siem de Jong, Gabriel Obertan, Mike Williamson and Jamaal Lascelles return to the Magpies' side at St. James' Park. They replace Massadio Haidara, Fabricio Coloccini, Jack Colback, Ayoze Perez and Papiss Cisse.
United are expected to line up in a 4-2-3-1 formation, with goalkeeper Tim Krul behind a back four of captain-for-the-night Daryl Janmaat, Williamson, Lascelles and Chancel Mbemba.
Anita will join Georginio Wijnaldum in the middle of the park, with a trio of Florian Thauvin, Moussa Sissoko and Obertan ahead of them.
And they will be tasked with supplying the ammunition for Dutch international forward de Jong, who scored in the last round of the competition, against Northampton Town.
On the substitutes' bench there are places for full-back Kevin Mbabu and midfielder Dan Barlaser - neither of who have featured in a first-team squad before.
Striker Ivan Toney, who scored for the Magpies' under-21s on Monday at West Ham is also included among the replacements, along with Perez, Coloccini, Yoan Gouffran and goalkeeper Rob Elliot.
