Young defender Kyle Cameron has been named in Scotland's under-19 squad for three games in Germany next month

Kyle Cameron has been named in the Scotland under-19s squad for an invitational tournament in Germany next month.

The Newcastle United defender will travel to Stuttgart for games against the hosts, the United States and Mexico between 6th October and 12th October.

Coach Scot Gemmill will use the tournament as preparation for the first round of the UEFA European Championship qualifiers, which will see the Tartan Army face the Republic of Ireland, Slovenia and Latvia in November.

Cameron, who was born in Hexham but qualifies for Scotland through his grandfather, has been with Newcastle since the age of nine.

The left-footed stopper has graduated from the Little Benton Academy to become part of Peter Beardsley's under-21 set-up this term.

The full Scotland under-19s squad is: Robby McCrorie (Rangers), John Ruddy (Bury), Ross McCrorie (Rangers), Kieran Tierney (Celtic), Kyle Cameron (Newcastle United), Sam Wardrop (Celtic), Jack Breslin (Celtic), Alex Iacovitti (Nottingham Forrest), Zak Jules (Reading), Joseph Thomson (Celtic), Ruben Sammut (Chelsea), Mark Hill (Celtic), Frank Ross (Aberdeen), Aidan Nesbitt (Celtic), Iain Wilson (Kilmarnock), Ryan Hardie (Rangers), Greg Kiltie (Kilmarnock), Scott Wright (Aberdeen), Oliver Burke (Nottingham Forest), Harvey St Clair (Chelsea).
