"Angry" Haidara Calls For Reaction

Written by Newcastle Utd

Massadio Haidara has called on United to provide an immediate reaction from their defeat at West Ham

By Anthony Marshall - Newcastle United Managing Editor

Massadio Haidara believes he and his Newcastle United teammates need to provide an immediate reaction from their defeat at West Ham - revealing the Magpies were "angry" with their performance at the Boleyn Ground.

The Magpies went down 2-0 on Monday night as Dimitri Payet struck early in each half to secure all three points for Slaven Bilic's side.

And with newly-promoted Watford coming to Tyneside this weekend in the Barclays Premier League, Haidara is targetting a first victory of the season to climb away from the foot of the table.

"We are all disappointed because we didn't play very well (at West Ham)," he told nufc.co.uk.

"We have to react on Saturday because we need the points. We are not in a good position and need to leave there as soon as possible.

"The first goal was difficult to block because he shot very well. Tim could do nothing about it.

"But after the goal we had to do better and try to come back into the game. The second goal was a bad one to concede, our heads dropped down and it was difficult for us to come back into the game.

"Everybody was angry after the game. We know we can do better and we didn't do it, so it is normal for people to be frustrated.

"It is good that the next game is so quick, because it means we have to forget about it straight away and focus everything on Saturday and Watford.

"It is a very important game and we have to be ready. We have to take points and that starts on Saturday. We have a few days to work and to find a way to win."
