Darlow And Toney To Face Gunners

Written by Newcastle Utd

Karl Darlow and Ivan Toney are expected to play for Newcastle United's under-21s against Arsenal at St. James' Park on Friday night

Karl Darlow will keep goal for Newcastle United's under-21s against Arsenal at St. James' Park on Friday (kick-off 7pm).

The 24-year-old shot-stopper has been named as an over-age player in Peter Beardsley's squad, just as he was in the Magpies' last second-string game - a 1-1 draw against Blackburn last month.

Darlow made his senior Newcastle debut in the Capital One Cup second round victory over Northampton along with Ivan Toney, who is also expected to line up for Beardsley's boys against the Gunners.

Another player with first-team experience, Gael Bigirimana, may also be involved against the North London side, who have enjoyed an unbeaten start to the Barclays Under-21 Premier League season and thrashed West Ham 5-0 in their last match.

Admission is free to season ticket holders and Members, otherwise it's £3 for adults and £1 concessions.
