Bidvest Food Services' annual golf day in aid of Newcastle United Foundation raised thousands for the charity
Bidvest Food Services' annual golf day in aid of Newcastle United Foundation, which was held at Ramside Hall on Wednesday, has been dubbed a huge success after raising more than £10,000 for the charity.
Teams at the golf day were joined by Fairs Cup-winning captain and patron Bob Moncur and his legends team.
Prizes were presented to the winning teams from both courses, with chartered accountants Haines Watts taking top place on the Cathedral course and Roseberry Leisure victorious on the Prince Bishops leaderboard.
Following presentations and an evening meal, the attendees were given the opportunity to bid on exclusive silent auction prizes, with four places in the Chairman's Suite at St. James' Park for the Rugby World Cup fixture between New Zealand and Tonga the top sale of the night, raising £1,300.
Norman Weymss, MD North East of Bidvest Food Services, said: "We are longstanding partners of Newcastle United Foundation and we are delighted that the golf day has raised so much. It's been great to see so many businesses showing their support."
Newcastle United Foundation development manager, Sarah Medcalf, added: "We are so grateful to everyone that has taken a team, offered or bid for, a prize and given their time to attend. All of the funds raised will be invested in delivering programmes in our local community, which make a difference to the lives of more than 50,000 every year."
The date of the 2016 golf day is still to be confirmed but you can register your interest for next year's event by emailing [email protected].
