Tickets for United's Capital One Cup tie at home to Sheffield Wednesday are on sale to season ticket holders

Tickets for Newcastle United's Capital One Cup third round tie at home to Sheffield Wednesday are now on sale to season ticket holders.

The Magpies recorded an impressive 4-1 victory over Northampton Town in the last round and will now host the Owls on Wednesday 23rd September (7:45pm kick-off), with prices again set at just £15 for adults and only £5 for concessions.

The lower tiers of St. James' Park will be opened first and season ticket holders have until 9am on Thursday (3rd September) to secure their seat in the stadium, with the game uploaded to their smartcard.

Season ticket holders will also be rewarded with a loyalty point for the game upon purchase using their individual supporter number. This will only apply in advance of the game and will not be added to sales on match day or entry via the cash turnstiles.

Tickets can be purchased in person at the Box Office, online at tickets.nufc.co.uk or by calling 0844 372 1892 (calls to this number will cost seven pence per minute plus your phone company's access charge).

From 10am on Thursday 3rd September, tickets will be released to members in the form of paper tickets, while season ticket holders will also be able to select alternative and extra seats.

Tickets will go on online general sale from Saturday 5th September before they are available on full general sale from Tuesday 8th September.

For original Platinum bondholders (areas L2C,L2D,L2E,L2F), no action is required and match tickets will be posted in due course.

Supporters are encouraged to purchase tickets early in order to avoid delays on matchday. Cash turnstiles will be in operation on the evening of the game but will be limited to Milburn Stand Level 7 only.
