The fourth issue of United's retro matchday programme will be available to purchase on Saturday
By Anthony Marshall - Newcastle United Managing Editor
The Newcastle United matchday programme has gone retro for the 2015/16 campaign, and the fourth issue will be on sale for Saturday's Barclays Premier League fixture against Arsenal (12.45pm kick-off).
Each week, a previous issue from the 1960s, 70s, 80s or 90s will be given a modern twist, with this weekend's award-winning publication taking its inspiration from November 1977 and a Football League Division One tie between United and the Gunners.
The original cover, with iconic black and white stripes running at an angle, also includes an action shot from a recent game. So Saturday's 100-page issue features new signing Florian Thauvin.
There is also a free A2 double-sided poster with each sold copy of the programme.
Inside, we speak exclusively to French flyer Thauvin about a goalscoring full debut in midweek, and how practice makes perfect with set-pieces.
Massadio Haidara dishes the dressing room dirt in Teammates, while we learn all about Aleksandar Mitrovic's tattoos in Players' Ink.
We also hear from captain Fabricio Coloccini, head coach Steve McClaren and Dutch full-back Daryl Janmaat.
That is a just a snippet of what is inside this week's issue, with an extensive look at Saturday's opponents Arsenal and four pages of quizzes and puzzles for our younger fans also included.
The official matchday programme will be available to purchase around St. James' Park and in the club store at the stadium on Saturday, priced at just £3 for 100 pages.
For supporters who are unable to make it to Tyneside for matchday, a digital version of the programme is available to download on all platforms, featuring everything included in the physical publication.
It can be purchased on a one-off basis for £2.99 per edition, or if you chose to subscribe for the whole season then there is a huge 40 per cent saving to be made, with a 12 month subscription costing just £34.99.
