Craig Pawson will referee Newcastle United's trip to Manchester United in the Barclays Premier League on Saturday (12.45pm kick-off).
It is the second time the South Yorkshire-based official has taken charge of a Magpies' match this season, having officiated their opening day home draw with Southampton earlier this month.
On that afternoon on Tyneside, Pawson booked six players, including Newcastle duo Jack Colback and Aleksandar Mitrovic.
In total this term, the 36-year-old has overseen two matches - both in the Premier League - issuing 11 yellow cards and no reds.
Pawson has been a referee since 1993 and progressed through the ranks to become a regular in the Football League, before being promoted to top flight officiating in 2013.
He was in charge of the 2012 League Two play-off final between Crewe and Cheltenham, and also fourth official for the 2014 FA Cup semi-final, as well as last season's FA Cup final and Capital One Cup final.
On Saturday at Old Trafford, Pawson will be assisted by Lee Betts and Stuart Burt, with Kevin Friend the game's fourth official.
