Newcastle United's second-string are in home Barclays Under-21 Premier League action for the first time this season on Monday night.

Peter Beardsley's Magpies entertain Blackburn Rovers at Whitley Park with a 7pm kick-off, having lost 3-1 at Wolves in their opening game of the campaign nine days ago.

Three players with first team experience for Newcastle - Gael Bigirimana, Lubo Satka and Callum Roberts - are set to feature against Rovers, while recent signing Ivan Toney is likely to start up front.

Karl Darlow could play in goal, having been an unused substitute for Steve McClaren's first team at Swansea on Saturday.

Defender Kevin Mbabu is available after missing the Wolves game through suspension while Jamie Sterry and Jack Hunter have recovered from minor injuries.

Admission at Whitley Park is free for season ticket holders and Members, otherwise it is £3 for adults and £1 concessions.
