United Confirm New Away Ticket Deals

Written by Newcastle Utd

United have confirmed new ticket deals which will make travelling to away matches cheaper and easier

Newcastle United have confirmed new ticket deals which will make travelling to away matches significantly cheaper and easier for football supporters during the 2015/16 season.

Following the success of the Club's innovative reciprocal ticket pricing deals - which saw two clubs agree to match the Magpies' low away ticket prices in 2013/14, rising to five clubs last season - Newcastle have kicked off the new campaign by striking a new reciprocal deal with West Ham United.

Reciprocal pricing offers away fans travelling to Premier League fixtures at St. James' Park cheaper match tickets in the visitors' section, providing their club guarantees the same low price for United supporters travelling to the corresponding league fixture.

As a result, Newcastle United fans will now pay just £25 for an adult away ticket and only £1 for junior tickets when the teams meet at the Boleyn Ground on Monday 14th September (8pm kick-off), with the same prices in place for Hammers fans at St. James' Park in January 2016.

That represents a 42 per cent saving for adult Magpies supporters and a whopping 96 per cent saving for juniors based on previous standard away ticket prices at the Boleyn Ground (£43 adults, £25 juniors).

Tickets for the trip to West Ham are now on sale to season ticket holders and can be purchased online at www.nufc.co.uk/tickets, in person at the stadium Box Office or by calling 0844 372 1892 (calls to this number will cost 7p per minute plus you phone company's access charge).

In addition, the Club has taken steps to ease the burden of another Premier League fixture which has been rescheduled for the purpose of a live television broadcast - a 12.45pm kick-off at AFC Bournemouth on Saturday, 7th November.

Using its away fans fund - a ring-fenced sum of £200,000 to be spent on boosting away attendances across each of the last three seasons - Newcastle will discount away tickets for the trip to Bournemouth by £10.

When tickets go on sale at a date closer to the fixture, adult tickets will be priced at just £23, over-65s and under-16s will pay as little as £9 and tickets for Junior Magpies Members will be only £1.

As per the Cherries' ticket sale conditions, ambulant disabled supporters will be required to pay the appropriate rate as stated above, while pairs of wheelchair spaces will be available for £1.

After two free trips to watch the team at Hull City and Everton last season, the Club has also confirmed that the independent Newcastle United Disabled Supporters Association (NUDSA) will again receive two free away trips this season, which will include tickets, coach travel, food and stewarding.

Lee Marshall, PR and supporter liaison manager at Newcastle United, said: "Wherever the team plays, there are always huge numbers of Newcastle fans who go to great effort and expense to show their support.

"After listening to feedback, we have used the away fans fund to continue securing reciprocal deals and subsiding tickets, as well as providing free trips each season for the Newcastle United Disabled Supporters Association.

"We remain committed to keeping football affordable for as many people as possible and we hope to announce further ticket deals across the season."

Gareth Beard, chairman of NUDSA, added: "I'd like to thank the club for helping us in this way. Not a lot of disabled fans can benefit from other discounts and incentives so trips are very important to us.

"We've been put off going to certain grounds because of the cost in the past so it's fantastic for our many members. Last season's trips were very well supported, with more than 60 people with us at Hull City and we think they'll be extremely popular again."

The Magpies will embark on their longest journey of the season this weekend, with supporters clocking up a round-trip of 720 miles to see the team face Swansea City in South Wales. The average round-trip journey for Newcastle fans over the 2015/16 season will be 466 miles.

Supporters are reminded that all fixture dates and times remain subject to change.
