Aleksandar Mitrovic will make his first Newcastle United appearance as the Magpies travel to York City in a pre-season friendly on Wednesday (7.45pm kick-off).
The highly-rated Serbian international striker arrived from Anderlecht last week and only trained for the first time with his new teammates on Tuesday, but head coach Steve McClaren has handed him a starting spot at Bootham Crescent.
United are expected to line up in a 4-2-3-1 formation against their League Two opponents, with a mix of youth and experience running through the team and substitutes.
Goalkeeper Karl Darlow will be behind a back four of Gael Bigirimana, Lubomir Satka, Jamaal Lascelles and Shane Ferguson.
Mehdi Abied and Yoan Gouffran are expected to play in central midfield roles, with the trio of Rolando Aarons, captain-for-the-night Siem de Jong and Ayoze Perez ahead of the them.
And they will be tasked with providing the ammunition for Mitrovic, who will be looking to make an instant impression in front of a large travelling support.
On the substitutes' bench there is a place for goalkeeper Rob Elliot, who is fit again following injury, and he is joined by midfielder Olivier Kemen and two forwards from the Magpies' Academy - Lewis Suddick and Louis Johnson.
