Mehdi Abeid won his first senior cap for Algeria on Saturday as the Desert Warriors kicked off their Africa Cup of Nations qualifying campaign in style.
The Newcastle midfielder appeared as a late substitute in a 4-0 home win over Seychelles at Stade Mustapha Tchaker in Blida.
Abeid, 22, had to withdraw from the Algeria squad for the Africa Cup of Nations in January due to injury but will be keen to play a part in helping his country qualify again for the 2017 tournament.
Islam Slimani opened the scoring before El Arbi Hillel Soudani found the net twice.
Abeid then replaced Slimani for the final five minutes, with Tottenham's Nabil Bentaleb scoring the fourth in stoppage time.
Meanwhile on Friday, Daryl Janmaat was a 77th-minute substitute for Holland as they beat Latvia 2-0 in a European Championships qualifying match. Tim Krul was an unused substitute.
And Wales recorded a superb 1-0 victory against Belgium, but Paul Dummett was unable to play a part having suffered a hamstring injury.
On Saturday, Shane Ferguson remained on the bench as Northern Ireland drew 0-0 with Romania in Belfast and Moussa Sissoko was not called upon as France lost 1-0 to Albania in a friendly.
