England Held By Morocco

Rolando Aarons was an unused substitute as England's under-20s drew 3-3 with Morocco in their opening game of the Toulon Tournament

Rolando Aarons looked on from the bench as England's under-20s kicked off their Toulon Tournament campaign with a draw against Morocco.

The Newcastle winger - who scored on his international debut against Romania last September shortly before his season was interrupted by injury - was named among the substitutes in France on Thursday evening.

But despite taking an early lead through Birmingham City's Demarai Gray, the Young Lions were second best for large spells in their opening Group B game and trailed 3-2 until Arsenal striker Chuba Akpom equalised with two minutes of normal time remaining.

Achraf Bencharki scored twice for the north Africans with Reda Hajhouj also on target. Sunderland's Duncan Watmore was England's other goalscorer.

Dominic Iorfa, the Wolverhampton Wanderers defender, was sent off midway through the second half for Aidy Boothroyd's side.

England face Ivory Coast on Saturday before taking on Mexico next week.
