Lubo Satka played the full game for Slovakia under-21s as they beat neighbours Czech Republic 2-0 in a friendly on Wednesday.

The 19-year-old Newcastle defender, who made his senior Magpies debut against Saturday's opponents Leicester in January, started at right-back at the OMS Arena in Senica.

A cagey first half finished goalless before Slovakia scored twice in the second period.

The home side used the game to prepare for this summer's European Under-21 Championships, which they are hosting.

"It was a slow game in the first half but we settled more into our passing game after the first goal and we controlled the game after that," Satka told nufc.co.uk.

The Ilava-born teenager has now started Slovakia's last three under-21 matches. Wednesday's win followed a 4-1 win over Norway's under-23s and a 0-0 draw against Ukraine, both last month.

His international call-up meant that he missed United's 4-0 Barclays Under-21 Premier League defeat at Derby on Tuesday.
