Former United star Steve Harper has presented Jonas Gutierrez with a cheque for a testicular cancer charity
Former Newcastle United goalkeeper Steve Harper returned to the Magpies' Training Centre on Monday to present Jonas Gutierrez with a cheque for testicular cancer charity Ballboys.
The veteran stopper, who is now on the books of Hull City, is also a keen businessman and last year helped launch a range of boxer shorts called Oddballs - from which ten per cent of every sale is donated to testicular cancer charities.
United midfielder Gutierrez made his playing comeback last week against Manchester United, having overcome testicular cancer, and Harper - who played with the Argentine at St. James' Park - wanted to recognise this and add his own support.
"This cheque presentation to the Ballboys charity will be the first of many and is our way of supporting Jonas, Ballboys and many men across the country in their fight against testicular cancer," said Harper.
"We launched Oddballs last year and we have had support across the length and breadth of the country."
Gutierrez added: "It's a really fantastic gesture from Steve and his colleagues at Oddballs to join the fight against testicular cancer. I am truly humbled by their support."
