Daryl Determined To Defeat Red Devils

Written by Newcastle Utd

Daryl Janmaat spoke to nufc.co.uk about a "massive" game against Manchester United on Wednesday

Newcastle United welcome Louis van Gaal's Manchester United to St. James' Park on Wednesday night, as they go in search of back-to-back Barclays Premier League victories.

The Red Devils secured a 2-0 win over Sunderland on Saturday, putting them on 50 points and 15 above the Magpies in the top flight table.

Daryl Janmaat played under van Gaal for Holland in the 2014 World Cup, and the in-form right back believes Newcastle's single-goal triumph over Aston Villa at the weekend will give them confidence going in to the fixture.

"We know Manchester United are a big team and they play well so we will really have to try hard to come away with maximum points," the Dutch international told nufc.co.uk.

"I think though, that the pressure will be more on them than us. We got the three points out of our last game which was crucial for us.

"Those points will build our positivity as a team and we can now be more confident to play Manchester United.

"They are a good team and they win games but they are expected to win more. It will be a massive game for us and the fans, and a superb game to play in and be a part of.

"We want the win, we want the three points and we will do everything that we can to get them."
