Andre Marriner will referee United's Premier League fixture at Crystal Palace on Wednesday

Andre Marriner will referee Newcastle United's Barclays Premier League fixture at Crystal Palace on Wednesday (8pm kick-off).
It is the third time this season the West Midlands-based official has taken charge of a Magpies' match this season, having been the man in the middle of November's single-goal home victory over Liverpool, followed by a 4-0 Capital One Cup defeat at Tottenham in December.
On that disappointing night at White Hart Lane, Marriner booked one player - United's Massadio Haidara.
In total this term, the whistler has overseen 21 fixtures across the Premier League, Europa League, FA Cup, Capital One Cup, Championship and League One, issuing 52 yellow cards and one red.
The 44-year-old began refereeing in 1992 when he was asked to stand-in for an official who did not turn up at a local league match, and he progressed through the ranks to become a Football League referee 11 years later.
Marriner's first Premier League appointment came in November 2004 with a 4-0 victory for Charlton Athletic over Norwich City, and he took charge of the 2013 FA Cup final between Manchester City and Wigan at Wembley.
On Wednesday at Selhurst Park, Marriner will be assisted by Gary Beswick and Marc Perry, with Andy D'Urso the game's fourth official.
