Newcastle v Stoke: Magpies Unchanged

Written by Newcastle Utd

Newcastle United are unchanged for Sunday's Premier League home game against Stoke City

At St. James' Park

Head coach John Carver has named an unchanged starting line-up as Newcastle United entertain Stoke City in the Barclays Premier League (2.05pm kick-off).

The Magpies won 3-0 at Hull City last time out and, understandably, Carver has kept faith with the same group of players as United go in search of another three points.

That means a 4-3-3 formation for the hosts, with goalkeeper Tim Krul behind a back four of Daryl Janmaat, Mike Williamson, captain Fabricio Coloccini and Massadio Haidara.

Moussa Sissoko, Vurnon Anita and Jack Colback make up the midfield trio, while in the final third, scorers at the KC Stadium, Remy Cabella and Sammy Ameobi, will take up roles on the flanks, either side of five-goal Spanish starlet Ayoze Perez.

A strong substitutes' bench sees the return of Paul Dummett, who missed the trip to Hull through a hamstring injury.

And the homegrown defender is joined by nine-goal leading scorer Papiss Cisse, Emmanuel Riviere, Yoan Gouffran, Gabriel Obertan, Mehdi Abeid and goalkeeper Freddie Woodman.
