John Carver has backed Newcastle United to go on a run of Barclays Premier League victories, starting on Saturday at Hull City.
The Magpies travel to the KC Stadium to face a Tigers side who are in the relegation zone after picking up just 19 points from their opening 22 games of the campaign.
And having been appointed head coach until the end of the season, Carver is keen to get a first win under his belt as soon as possible - ideally at a venue where United triumphed 4-1 last term.
"Why can't we go on a run? Why can't we go and win games?" he said.
"I've seen enough in the last three league games to suggest we can go on a run.
"We've got a group of three games now which are very, very important. The most important thing is getting that first one and it has to come soon."
"I want the same performance (as last season at Hull) because it was definitely one of our best performances away from home.
"That was really encouraging, so a similar performance and a similar result would put a smile back on my face again."
Although Hull have only won twice at home in top flight action this season, Carver is taking nothing for granted as he takes his troops to Humberside.
But the head coach is confident Newcastle can add to the Tigers' woes and lift themselves up the table in the process.
"They are at home and the pressure is going to be on them," said Carver.
"The one thing I do know is that they are getting one or two players back, and so it is very difficult to predict what team and what system they will play.
"But we will play on (their home record), yes. We know what it's like when you're under pressure at home and not winning games - you can turn the crowd.
"It can be dangerous when you are under pressure - we saw that at the start of the season. But we've got to be careful of not slipping up."
