Phil Dowd will referee Newcastle United's Barclays Premier League fixture at Hull City on Saturday (12.45pm kick-off).
It is the second time the Staffordshire-based official has taken charge of a Magpies match this season, having been the man in the middle of December's 1-1 draw away at Burnley.
On that evening at Turf Moor, Dowd booked four players including United pair Mike Williamson and Cheick Tiote.
In total this term he has been appointed to 20 games across the Premier League, Championship, FA Cup and Captial One Cup, issuing 83 yellow cards and four reds.
Dowd, aged 52, began refereeing in local leagues in 1984, and having worked his way up through the ranks, joined the Football League's full list of referees in 1997.
He was promoted to the Premier League list in 2001, and took charge of his first top flight match in December that year as Fulham took on Everton.
The highlights of Dowd's career to date have been being appointed to the 2010 League Cup final, the 2011 FA Community Shield and the 2012 FA Cup final.
On Saturday at the KC Stadium, Dowd's assistants will be Darren Cann and Michael Salisbury, with Neil Swarbrick the game's fourth official.
