Two of Newcastle United's Academy youngsters have received England call-ups this week.

Goalkeeper Paul Woolston, who is currently recovering from injury, is part of John Peacock's 22-man under-17 squad for next month's Algarve Tournament.

The competition is England's final warm-up ahead of the European Under-17 Championships Elite Round qualifiers and will see the Young Lions face Holland, Germany and hosts Portugal.

Woolston - who has won seven under-17 caps since making his debut against the Czech Republic last August - is one of two goalkeepers in the squad alongside William Huffer of Leeds United.

Meanwhile Mackenzie Heaney has been named in Steve Cooper's squad for a UEFA Under-16 Development Tournament at St. George's Park, also in February.

Cooper has named a 20-man party for games against Switzerland, France and Slovakia.

Heaney - who has previously represented Scotland at schoolboy level - has been a regular for United's under-18 side this season at the age of 15.
