Under-21s Aiming For Semi Spot

United's second string entertain Blackburn in the quarter-final of the Under-21 Premier League Cup on Tuesday

Newcastle United's second string entertain Blackburn Rovers in the quarter-final of the Under-21 Premier League Cup on Tuesday (7pm kick-off).

St. James' Park is the venue for the last eight tie, and the Magpies will be hoping for progression to continue an impressive campaign in which they have only tasted defeat once in all competitions.

Adam Campbell and Callum Roberts are both included in the squad for the cup fixture. The pair are currently plying their trade across the River Tyne at Gateshead but are allowed to play under the terms of their youth loans.

Campbell netted twice on his debut for the Heed on Saturday, while Roberts claimed an assist and also struck the woodwork.

When the sides met at the start of December in league action, United ran out comfortable 3-1 winners thanks to goals from Gael Bigirimana, Roberts and Jonathyn Quinn - all three of who will be involved again for Peter Beardsley's troops.

The East Stand at St. James' Park will be open for the fixture, with entry costing just £3 for adults and £1 for concessions. All Newcastle season ticket holders and Members can watch the match for free,
