Adam Campbell marked his debut for Gateshead in some style as he scored a brace to help the Heed beat Nuneaton on Saturday.
The 20-year-old had only completed his emergency youth loan deal at Friday lunchtime but went straight into Gary Mills' starting XI alongside fellow Magpies loanee Callum Roberts.
And, having twice threatened already, Campbell scored his first after 15 minutes before Roberts saw a 29th-minute effort hit the woodwork.
Four minutes later, though, Campbell had his second and nearly added another just after half-time when his curling shot struck a post.
Both Campbell and Roberts played the full 90 minutes.
Earlier, Nottingham Forest came from behind to beat local rivals Derby County with Jamaal Lascelles appearing as a late substitute.
Karl Darlow was an unused substitute.
