Spanish star Ayoze Perez is the Newcastle United Wonga Player of the Month for December and received his trophy on Friday

Newcastle United supporters have named Ayoze Pérez as the Club's Wonga Player of the Month for December.
The 21-year-old Spanish ace scored against Arsenal and Everton and his performances were a joy to watch throughout the month - just as they have been ever since he broke into the first-team on a regular basis in late October.
His fine form saw him clinch the award ahead of Papiss Cissé and Moussa Sissoko, who had also been shortlisted, and lucky fan Steven Smith won the opportunity to present Pérez with the trophy at the Magpies' Training Centre after voting on Wonga's Newcastle United fan site.
The student, from Gateshead, also received a Wonga Player of the Month pennant signed by the forward and watched as the players trained ahead of Saturday's game against Southampton.
Pérez, a summer signing from hometown club CD Tenerife, told nufcTV: "I would like to thank all of the people who voted for me for the Player of the Month.
"It's great that I managed to get this award and I'm very pleased that I have been awarded the trophy."
